Mental Wellness for Every Age

Hi All,
I recently joined the National Association of Mental Illness. The newsletter spoke of support groups, statistics and helpful tips for those with computers for sites to visit.
I am fortunate I have a computer.
Many of those suffering with mental illness do not have access to computers due to lack of care. This causes many patients to make poor choices and end up with nothing, living in a shelter or worse.
I am more concerned about creating a foundation for mental wellness to support individuals of all income to have access to mental health care to maintain mental wellness.

Last time I wrote to you about my mood disorder. I am doing better. But not without losses, I was laid off from my job of 35 years, am still on long term disability which runs out in less than a year and not released to work by my psychiatrist yet.

The financial burden is high between my disorder and my children's. I pay COBRA now, one thousand dollars a month in addition to many copays and doctos visits. Health insurance is a must and most individuals with such disorders cannot afford insurance and medicaid or other government funding does not see mental wellnes as a priority.

So many people are left uncared for by the professional they sorely need.

Be well my friends,
Robbin
